Q. If my child does not want to try out for Provinicals do I still have to pay the $20 |
A. No you do not have to pay. |
Q. If my child is not trying out for Provincials do they still participate in all the tryout games, practice sessions? |
A. Yes, your child will still participate as these will be considered as part of their teams ice time allotment. |
Q. Why are you charging the $20 tryout fee for Provincials? |
A. The fee is to cover on and off ice officials for the round robin of games. NOTE: Any excess monies collected for tryout fees will be distributed evenly among any teams hosting a provincial tournament to help toward their fundraising efforts and to offset costs. |
Q. How many games/practice sessions will each division have for Provincials Tryouts? |
A. Atom and Peewee will have 3 games, 1 practice. Bantam will have 2 games and 1 practice as they only have 3 teams in their division. |
Q. When will the Provincial tryout process begin/end? |
A. The tryout process will start the week of the 13th and end towards the end of Nov, 1st week of Dec |
Q. What are the dates for Provincials this year? |
A. The dates for provincials are April 22-24, 2019 for Peewee and Midget, and April 25-27, 2019 for Atom and Bantam. |
Q. Who will be picking the Provincial teams, the coaches or the evaluators? |
A. The Evaluators will rank the players and teams will be picked based on the rankings from the evaluators. This is a "top down" selection so team 1 will consist of the top ranked players. Team 2 will consist of the next highest ranked players and so on. Each team will be placed in the proper tier for their level. |
Q: If my child does tryout and gets placed on a team but does not end up going to Provincials can they partisipate next year? |
A: No |
Q: What is the Provincials? |
A: The Provincials is a Year End Tournament which happens throughout the province of NL. The location where you play your games will not be decided until after Christmas in the final grading report from HNL. Team selection will take place over several practices and games and players will be placed based on ranking from the Evaluators. Players are selected from players partisipating in IHL. AllStar Teams will automatically be entered into Provincials and do not Tryout. |
